Engineering
We are seeking a Frontend / Design Intern to assist with the design and front-end development of our clinician web application.
The intern will work with the product and engineering teams to improve the user interface for medication search, product comparison, and the excipient matrix. This position involves both design work and implementation in React.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design user interfaces and interaction flows for the clinician application
- Redesign the search, comparison, and excipient matrix screens
- Develop and update web pages using React
- Assist with implementation of the V3.4 prototype gallery design in the production application
- Correct defects in the search interface
- Complete remaining work on the company landing pages
- Test assigned pages for compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA
- Write and maintain unit tests for user interface changes
- Attend team meetings and design reviews and revise work based on feedback
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools
- Prior internships, course projects, or personal projects that were completed and delivered
- Portfolio or source-code samples of user interface work
- Familiarity with accessibility testing, including keyboard access, form labels, and color contrast
- Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, or Tailwind CSS is a plus

We are seeking a Software Engineering Intern to assist with the quality and organization of the AllergenMaps source code.
The intern will review existing TypeScript, identify poor structure, duplication, and unnecessary complexity, and submit refactoring changes for review. Automated tools may be used to locate possible issues; changes are confirmed by a supervising engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review source code for quality, consistency, and structure
- Refactor code to improve clarity and maintainability
- Reorganize files, modules, and directories as the codebase grows
- Improve names, remove unused code, and reduce duplicated or overly complex logic
- Strengthen type definitions and remove unnecessary as any casts and eslint-disable comments where they conceal defects
- Add or update tests for refactored code
- Use automated tools and AI-assisted coding tools as aids; determine required changes by reading the code
- Submit small pull requests limited to a single purpose and document the reason for each change
- After several changes have been reviewed and merged, assist with review of other interns' pull requests when requested
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools
- Prior internships, course projects, or personal projects that were completed and delivered
- Prior experience refactoring or cleaning up an existing codebase
- Familiarity with TypeScript, ESLint, and a test framework such as Vitest
- Ability to read and refactor TypeScript in a codebase written by others

We are seeking a Software Engineering Intern to assist with development of the AllergenMaps application programming interface.
The intern will work on the public v1 API, the pharmacy-management-system integration, admin endpoints, and the developer portal. Work on the data pipeline and allergen model is assigned to full-time staff. Changes are subject to code review and continuous integration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and update endpoints for the public v1 API, the pharmacy-management-system integration, and administrative functions
- Implement one assigned v1 endpoint from specification through testing and review
- Assist with rate limiting and usage metering
- Update the developer portal, documentation, and sandbox
- Apply authentication, input validation, and abuse controls to assigned endpoints
- Write and maintain tests for code changes
- Submit small pull requests limited to a single purpose and document the reason for each change
- Attend team meetings and code reviews and revise work based on feedback
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Business
We are seeking an Outreach Intern to assist with pharmacy recruitment and pilot-store support for AllergenMaps.
The intern will support more than 30 pharmacies in the pilot program, contact prospective pharmacies, schedule calls, and maintain the sales pipeline. A background in pharmacy is strongly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support pharmacies currently participating in the pilot program
- Identify and contact prospective pharmacies
- Conduct outbound telephone calls and schedule meetings
- Record each call in the pipeline log on the same day, using the standard format
- Document completed actions and outcomes rather than stated intentions
- Complete follow-up contacts as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to conduct cold calls and continue outreach after unsuccessful contacts
- Ability to speak with pharmacists in a professional manner; pharmacy coursework or work experience is strongly preferred
- Accurate, consistent record-keeping
- Ability to work without close supervision on follow-up tasks

We are seeking a Communications Intern to assist with community outreach and partnership development for AllergenMaps.
The intern will work with certifiers, community organizations, condition groups, educational institutions, and members of the press. The purpose of the work is to increase public awareness of medication inactive ingredients and to develop partnerships outside the pharmacy channel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contact certifiers, community organizations, condition groups, educational institutions, and press outlets
- Prepare written materials for non-technical readers
- Support partnership discussions and follow up with institutions that do not respond promptly
- Review statements for accuracy before they are distributed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the practices and concerns of halal, kosher, and allergy communities
- Clear writing for a general audience
- Ability to present ingredient information without causing unnecessary alarm
- Willingness to state when data is incomplete rather than overstate results

We are seeking a Marketing Intern to assist with visual identity, design, and social media for AllergenMaps.
The intern will produce design and short-form copy for the application, print materials, the website, and social media channels. Source material will be provided by the communications team.

- Maintain a consistent visual style across those materials
- Write short copy for publication
- Verify factual claims before publication
- Revise work based on review

- Ability to complete assignments on schedule and incorporate editorial changes
- Experience applying one visual system across more than one medium
