Thickener/Gelling Agent
A sucrose-crosslinked acrylic acid polymer used to create gels for topical formulations.
Emulsifier/Stiffening Agent
A mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohols (fatty alcohols, not drinking alcohol). Used to thicken and stabilize creams and ointments. Can cause contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals.
Preservative
A preservative used to prevent microbial growth. Can cause allergic contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals.
